Creation of a child

I wrote this poem for my children to explain how I know that they are beautiful & special no matter what the world may say. I thought all of you parents out there might like it too!




Creation of a Child

Why are you special?
This is what I know,
One time, before all the angels,
God gave quite a show.
He began to make you
With great love & great care.
He picked out your home
And He picked out your hair.
He put you together,
Every perfect piece,
And He laughed and He laughed
As He put tickles in your knees.
He gave you 10 fingers,
Then 10 toes.
Yes, He even crafted
Your eyes, ears, and nose.
When He was finished,
He held you in His hand.
He kissed you, He loved you,
You were now part of His plan.
Then He commanded the angels
To give a great shout!
The stars must have wondered
What all the fuss was about.
Then He sent you to earth,
As He declared with a smile,
"I have never seen such beauty
Like this beautiful child. "
